Upward Notes serves people of all ages in community spaces where music is rarely heard but deeply needed. Musicians perform at eye level, engaging in music as an exchange that supports the well-being of both listener and performer.
Music as Exchange, not Performance
Upward Notes musicians step off the stage and sit at eye level with the audience. This removes the hierarchy and pressure of traditional performance, allowing music to be shared as a human exchange rather than judged as a product.
Because gatherings are participatory and relational, musicians are not carrying the emotional weight alone. Connection flows both ways, creating moments of mutual grounding and affirmation.
